FAQ'S

What is the MCEE advising procedure?
Current MCEE Students are required to be advised by a faculty advisor prior to each semester. Faculty advising schedules will be available prior to the enrollment period. All new students including new from University College students, transfer students, and students changing majors within OU, will initially be advised by MCEE Academic Advisors.  The reason for this is to ‘Orient’ the new students into the MCEE, training them on DN, retention policies, university services, enrollment procedures, curriculum offerings, and MCEE Advising procedures. Students who have fewer than 24 credit hours are advised in University College or OU Scholars office. You will be notified by e-mail when you are transferred to the Mewbourne College of Earth and Energy.

What if I have general questions about my degree progress?
Academic Advisors are available to meet with students by appointment Monday through Friday. Contact MCEE Student Services at (405) 325-4005 to schedule an appointment.

When can I enroll?
On Online Enrollment every student has an"'enrollment window". This is the date and time a student can begin the enrollment process. These dates vary based on the number of credit hours a student has attained. This information is available at http://enroll.ou.edu by clicking on the "My Window" link.

What are the recommended maximum hours I can enroll in for spring, fall, and summer semesters?
We recommend a maximum of 18 credit hours for Spring and Fall semesters, and 9 credit hours for Summer semester. Student wishing to have their maximum credit hours exceeded must get special permission from an Academic Advisor in MCEE Student Services.

What is meant by full time student status?
Students enrolled in 12 hours are considered to be full time students.

When can I be admitted to the Mewbourne College of Earth and Energy?
