Advising

The Mewbourne College of Earth and Energy believes that faculty members are best qualified to provide curricular, professional and career advisement and require all students be advised by a faculty advisor prior to enrollment. In addition to this, an academic advisor is available to meet with students regarding general education, general planning and graduation questions.

Freshmen

Students who have earned fewer than 24 credit hours are advised in University College or the OU Scholars office. You will be notified by e-mail when you are transferred to the Mewbourne College of Earth and Energy.

Transfer Students

Transfer students are advised in Mewbourne College of Earth and Energy Student Services. You can schedule an appointment by calling (405) 325-4005. If you have not yet completed MATH 1823 or an equivalent course, you must take the math assessment test before you can be advised. You can schedule the assessment with the Assessment and Learning Center (405) 325-4336. You will get your results immediately and should bring them with you to your advising appointment. Information about the test and sample questions are available on their website.

Current OU MCEE Students

Current MCEE students are advised each semester by faculty advisors within their major. You must follow the Advising Instructions and contact your School Office to find out the undergraduate advising hours.
